Slow Cooker Butter Chicken {A Taste of India}

Hello lovelies!

I'm not sure what it is, but lately I've been having a taste for Indian food.  If I could have a wish fulfilled right now (concerning Indian food, that is), I'd love to eat at the Curryblossom Cafe.  My cousin hosted a baby shower there, and let me tell you, um um good!  Plus, I love Vimala's philosophy that no one should go without food because they cannot pay.  Food is a human right.

Meet Vimala.

Now, nothing I cook will light a candle to what Vimala prepares, but since I can't go there, I will make do with trying dishes at home that satisfy my taste for Indian cuisine.

This time I tried a new dish in my crockpot.  It's a butter chicken recipe that can be found HERE.  I love all of the flavors and despite the name "butter chicken," the flavors are totally different from what I imagined.  When I thought "butter chicken", my mind went to savory flavors, like what you would taste from roasted chicken.  Totally different!  Just imagine the flavors of coconut milk, and curry, and garam masala, and so much more.

Here's a video of me preparing the dish.  (The first part of the video is a joint birthday party for 3 little ones.)

 Bon Appetit,

  1. I love Indian food! The philosophy of Vimala is beautiful. There is a pizza shop (in NY I think) that has a similar philosophy about people who can't afford to pay. Other patrons will donate enough to pay for someone's slice of pizza who comes in that can't afford to pay. We need more people like that in our world!

  4. I love butter chicken. Haven't had it in a dog's age, though. Hope you are well. I know from your most recent post that you are very busy.
