What the Internet Has Been Saying About Me

Recently I've become slightly obsessed with taking these online quizzes that are supposed to listen to your inner self and tell you all that you didn't know (or maybe you did but didn't know you knew).  It's been interesting to say the least.  I don't know who developed the questions, but no matter how they ask me, my answers come out consistently the same.  Now the question is, what do I do about it?

Take a closer peep inside my results.

What Is My Herb Nerd?

{Image Source}
Traditionalmedicines.com has discovered my inner Herb Nerd.  I am: EGN (Echinacea, Ginger, Nettle)
Echinacea - You Are: A protector. With an amazing blend of optimism, nurturing and goodwill, you lend your strength and energy to those in need. Your seemingly infinite goodwill and boundless supportive energy make you the one people turn to when times are tough. Your greatest strength is, of course, also one of your weaknesses, especially if you neglect to take care of yourself. At times like these, it’s a good idea to take a step back and focus some of that protective energy on yourself.

Ginger - You Are: Spirited. A feisty and fiery companion, quick with an opinion, a laugh or an idea. Warm, friendly and inviting, you never allow an awkward moment to pass. In fact, even cold and distant people warm up to you more quickly than others. Negative experiences or too much indulgence, however, can send you into a bit of a tailspin, and when hurt you may become quite cold and distant. Ginger people do best when their natural warmth and affection is flowing freely, giving them easy access to their love of life.

Nettle - You Are: Truly a nurturing and supportive friend, you’re the kind of person that just isn’t for everyone. But those who take the time are rewarded with your gentle disposition, and the kind of friendship that does a person good no matter the difficulty they’re facing. When out of balance, you can become more prickly than supportive or nurturing, though—a sign that you need to shower yourself with the same kind of nurturing you so freely give to others.

What City/State Do I Belong In?

I took an online quiz which said that I actually belong in the state of Georgia.  However, another quiz told me that I should move to Portland.  For me, those are equally odd.  If my southernness lands me in Georgia, then I might as well stay right where I am.  As for Portland, it must be something really interesting going on in that city.
You’re not a small Eastern European country, you’re a wonderful, wonderful part of the United States. You’re a sweet person, kind, caring, and an all-around good guy or gal. You do things unselfishly with others in mind. Keep up the good work, Georg. (This is what the quiz said.)

What Is Your Personality Type?

The iPersonic quiz let me know about my personality type.  Apparently, I am the Sensitive Doer.
Sensitive Doers are gentle, modest and reserved persons. They cope well with everyday life and like their privacy. With their quiet, optimistic nature, they are also good, sought-after listeners and other people feel well in their company.

All in all, this type is the most likable and friendliest of all personality types. Tolerance and their regard for others distinguish their personality. They are very caring, generous and always willing to help. They are open to and interested in everything that is new or unknown to them. However, if their inner value system or their sense of justice is hurt, Sensitive Doers can suddenly and surprisingly become forceful and assertive.

Sensitive Doers enjoy the comforts life offers to the full. They are very happy in everyday life. Sensitive Doers are often gifted artists or very good craftsmen. Creativity, imagination and an especially keen perception are just a few of their strong points. Sensitive Doers are very presence-oriented; long-term planning and preparations do not appeal to them. They take life as it comes and react flexibly to daily demands. They do not like too much routine and predictability. Their talents come more to the fore when work processes are variable and there are not so many rules. Sensitive Doers like to work alone; if they are part of a team, they do not get involved in competitive or power games and prefer living and working together harmoniously and openly.
Sensitive Doers are completely satisfied with a small, close circle of friends as their need for social contacts is not very marked. Here, too, they avoid conflicts - quarrels and disputes put considerable strain on them. Sensitive Doers are often very fond of animals and are very good with small children. As partner, this type is loyal and reliable and is willing to invest a lot in a relationship. Mutual respect and tolerance are very important to Sensitive Doers. Their love of pleasure makes them a pleasant companion with whom one can experience intensive moments. They like to look after their partner with attentiveness and small gifts and are very sensitive to the partner’s needs - often more than to their own. However, should they meet the wrong person, they run the risk of being taken advantage of. They are then deeply disappointed.

What Career Should You Actually Have?

Then, I took a quiz to tell me what career I should actually have.  I got Designer.

You are an artist, creative juices are oozing out of you. You’d make just as good of a designer as you would an architect, as long as you get to create something. You live your life like Michelangelo, constantly looking for the sculpture within the stone. Other occupations: architect, editor.

Kudos to you if you actually made it to the end of this post.  That means, you've probably been just as bored as I was when I took these quizzes.  lol  While these quiz results may not be 100% accurate, they are pretty spot on.  They sum up even the challenges I face for my personality type as well.  For me, the question is, now what?  (smile)

Meet Ashly King.

AE:  Who are you and what is it that you do/make?
AK:  My name is Ashly King, and I make handmade jewelry.

AE:  How did you get started/What is the motivation behind your work?
AKMy real motivation started when I took a design challenge from a design of a Bib Necklace design I saw on the internet. I wanted to create my own version, it took me several weeks to complete. I liked how it turned out and was inspired to design more peices. I decided to open an Etsy Shop in July 2013 to sell online. I sold several jewelry pieces to my friends and was receiving positive feedback, that is when I decided to take the leap of faith and start expanding my work online.

AE:  Where can we find your work?
AE:  What is your website/contact information?
AK:
www.facebook.com/ashannjewelry, Google+: Ash Ann Jewelry

Isn't Ashly's work amazing?!  Be sure to check out her social media sites and online shop.  Way to go, Ashly.  I wish you continued success.

Peace & Love,

Making a few changes...

FYI: I'm making a few changes on my blog.  For some reason I've been getting some messages of how Blogger hasn't been playing Mr. Nice Guy with some of my blog visitors, especially those from Wordpress.  I enjoy reading every single comment and I do hope that this little change will not be a huge pain in the neck.  (And trust me, after this week, I've known pain in the neck and back - whew!)

So, I decided to go with Disqus to moderate my blog comments.  It seems to be a platform that's universal.  Also, if I'm lucky, it will help me with blog replies, which I enjoy doing.  I'm thinking that if I reply on my page, it will automatically send that reply to the original commenter.

If this proves to be a huge pain, it's okay for you to let me know.  I have no problem trying other options.

Hope your Saturday is a fruitful one.  As for me, I'm off to the Regional Science Fair.  Two of my students will be participating.

Happy Saturday,
