I know it's been a while since I've been back here in my blog space, but it's all for good reason. I'll definitely fill you in more when I can, but for now, I wanted to revisit the Blogland Tour. If you missed the first tour, you can read about it here. This time I was invited to participate in the Blogland Tour from one of my new friends via YouTube, so I decided that I would participate again and feature a couple of Youtubers who also blog.
Meet Cherie of LiveLoveLatte, and her daughter Sicily.
It's amazing how vast the world is and yet when you travel in certain circles on the internet, you tend to virtually "bump" into the same people. When I started making more videos and following more Youtubers this summer, I found Cherie from LiveLoveLatte to be one of the common denominators. I just had to check out her channel because so many other wonderful women that I enjoyed also were. And I'm so glad I did!
I love Cherie's ideas for entertaining and organizing. I was immediately drawn to her videos about organizing her spice cabinet and her pantry.
Cherie is such a wonderful person with a great sense of style and order. Please check out her blog or her Youtube channel to see all of her amazing posts and videos.
What I am currently working on.
Honestly, what I'm working on now is finding a balance between my new schedule - grad school, teaching, and regular life. There hasn't been much down time lately and I long to do something truly crafty (in my home) all the time. My latest project is actually transforming my bathroom from ho hum to badabingbadaboom! Yes, my only bathroom was basically gutted out, so needless to say, I'm staying with my mom at the present. Last weekend I spent time painting the walls a soft green, and it felt good to contribute to this project in some way. I'm going for a tranquil spa theme and I'm excited to see the project finish soon.
How does my work differ from others in its genre?
The "differentness" that I aim for in my Youtube channel is to show the real behind-the-scenes of how I go from Point A to Point B. I enjoy the before and after videos, but I'm always curious about the in between. That in between is what I tend to show....even when it means that I have to show all the junk before the pretty part. It can be kind of embarassing, but at the same time, I think it shows my viewers the real me.
Why do I write/create what I do?
I create videos to show what I look for in others videos. As mentioned before, I like knowing how spaces were transformed. I like knowing that I'm not the only organized-challenged/borderline hoarder out there. And I really enjoy thrift shopping and finding ways to transform my purchases to decorate my home. I want my viewers to know that it's okay to be on a budget.
How does your writing/creative process work?
My Youtube channel differs from a blog a bit. For my blog I usually write in the moment. I find though with Youtube, it's a different process. For my vlogs, they tend to be spur of the moment, but all the other videos are pretty much planned. I even have a section in my planner or on a sheet in my journal for the ideas that I want to feature in videos. So, in essence, my videos are a bit more intentional. And I like showing another side of my posts. My blog and Youtube channel show different aspects of me and different aspects of the projects I try.
And now, I'm passing the Blogland Tour torch to two new friends from Youtube:
Nicole of Help Mama Remote
On Nicole's Youtube channel or blog, you will find vlogs, her wonderful cooking videos/recipes, and grocery hauls. She buys some wonderful goodies from Costco, which she shows in her grocery hauls. And talk about a garden! Nicole and her family have a wonderful raised bed garden and she shows her harvests from that. From Nicole is where I learned about the Arc planner. She has several videos on home organization and a variety of planner styles. Oh yes, if you stop by, you'll also see her milk glass collection that she finds through thrift shopping.

Lou Ann of Gardaris/It's Always Something Around Here
On Lou Ann's blog and Youtube channel you will find a wonderful collection of thrifted haul videos, organization, home decorating, cooking, gardening, and DIY projects. I love watching her grocery hauls from Aldi's and seeing what meals she will create from that. Her home is so beautifully decorated with fall decor that it would literally make you taste Fall! I enjoy seeing bits and pieces of her home and learning the back story on her makeovers. Be sure to check out her work!
