Meet Carrie Powell of Carrie's Curiosities.

AE:  Who are you and what is it that you do/make?
CP:  My name is Carrie Powell.

I am currently making natural wax candles (including soy, beeswax and palm wax), room sprays, aroma bead melts, potpourri sachets, beaded ornaments and painted mason jars. Basically, I love working on things that can be useful and beautiful for your home.

AE:  How did you get started/What is the motivation behind your work?
CPCrafting is in my blood...

From a young age, I sat and watched my mother create countless creations with her own 2 hands.  She was an amazing and gifted artist.  Everything she created was truly special and beautiful and I was truly lucky to grow up with her as my role model.

My mother passed away 14 years ago, but the lessons she taught me have remained.  Crafting, making things with my hands, is my way of staying connected to my mother. Figuring out exactly what I wanted to create was my next challenge.

I have a fascination with all things handmade, but I knew I couldn't create EVERYTHING.  So, I made a list of things that I truly loved and candles were number one. With that decided, I began my journey... I researched and practiced making countless batches of candles, until I had a product I was truly proud to share.

AE:  Where can we find your work?
CPMy products are currently available at my Etsy shop.

AE:  What is your website/contact information?
CP:

I am continuously inspired by the work of other artists and the "story" behind their passion.  I stopped by Carrie's online shop and was blown away with all of her gorgeous creations!  She has a talent that I'm glad she has chosen to share with the AEE community.  Please stop by her shop and check out her wonderful creations.

Peace & Love,
