A Corner of my World: A Mini Makeover

If you've been around to hear my confession of how bare my walls in my bedroom have been, you will be glad to know that I'm working on it.  This makeover is not involving any change of paint color.  I'm just working around the neutral walls and adding splashes of color as I see fit.

What's my inspiration?  World Market!  I love that place.  I love the colors, the textures, the overall feel.  I can't say it enough.

I may not have a World Market budget, but I keep reminding myself that if I'm patient, the eclectic items and colors that I love will find their way to me and I will make over this space one corner at a time.

Then I added the cabinet and created fabric panels (tutorial here).
Attach panels to inside of glass.
Finally I made a little change in the adjacent chair.  I initially planned on painting it, but then I decided I really liked the wood as is.

The plaid cushion must go!
The replacement cushion.

Just a change of seat cushion (I found the new cushion at IKEA for $5.99) and adding two pre-existing pillows - the larger one, a gift from my Dutch friend and the smaller one, one of my own creations (tutorial here).  Love, love.

I'm getting there, y'all!  One corner at a time.  :-)

p.s.  Eventually I will pull the plastic film and the Energy Guide sticker off my tv, but not today.  lol

  1. I like World Market too. Luckily, there's not one very near me, so I can't spend too much time there. lol I like your pillows. That crocheted throw is pretty nice too!

  2. I like all those bright colors you keep finding to add to your room. World Market gets me into trouble. :)

  3. My dad still has the sticker on their tv...15 years and counting :) Love the new corner
