Just wanted to share a little something from my world with you...

We had awards day at school, which is basically for the kids, but at the end, faculty and staff are recognized for things like perfect attendance.  Well, I wish I could tell you more details about this one, but there's this award that teachers and staff can be nominated for called Star Teacher (for the teachers).  Students, parents, teachers can nominate you.  Every nine weeks grading period, different people are nominated.  I was sitting at the top of the bleachers when one of the coworkers on my team was nominated.  She was screaming and I was screaming for her.  Then she did her little dance all the way down to the front of the gym.  While I was watching her shag her way to the front, they called mine!  What!?  When they call your name, they read what was written about you by the person nominating you.  After a while I kept saying to myself, "Who in the world wrote that?"  LOL  Anyways, I was elated.  It was the first time I ever got nominated for that award.

So, that was what was on the end of the program.  When my principal was giving the closing remarks, he then said, "Now we want to recognize our new Teacher of the Year for the 2014-2015 school year."  Then he called my name!  Was this real?  He later went on to say how I have to get observed by the district and fill out this packet of forms or something.  Honestly I can't even remember all of what was said.  I guess I'll find out later.  But I know it was real because yesterday the school gave me a potted Calla Lily arrangement.  So it's real, y'all!

I called my mom and she was in such shock that she had me repeat myself several times.  Anyways, just wanted to share my news with you all.

Yep, this is yet another 'selfie'.  :-)
xoxo,
