Playing Catch Up, On the Road to Recovery

Hello blog world.

Just seeing if anybody is still out there!  I thought I'd show my virtual "face" before the holidays so you would know that I'm still here.  Even if you haven't heard from me, I still see your works.  I skim, scan, and save for later, hoping to comment when I can.    *smile*

The gist of it all is this:  Since I've returned to work this year, my life has been on a major rollercoaster ride like none other.  Ever have those days when you feel like you might just be getting it together and then you realize that you're just not?  You're always behind (it seems) and you just can't quite find that rhythm.  Most of my days have been like that.  I've undergone so many stressors lately that my body is trying to recover and it needs some help doing so.

Over the summer I visited an alternative health care doctor with a friend of mine and after her visit I thought, I think I need to come here too.  So I did, last month.  After after two tests and a bunch of questions, it seems that my body is kinda out of whack right now (not the technical term).  Too little vitamins/minerals here, too much there.  So when I say I'm on a bunch of whole food supplements, trust me.  Like 45 a day! And I'm having to start a low-carb regimen.  I'm praying that this all will help me swing back into my "feel good" days.  And then I won't have to take so many supplements.  But right now I must admit that my body is undergoing a type of "burnout."  So please bear with me while I make adjustments.  :-)

Even in the midst of this, there is so much to be thankful for.  And even though we should show our thanks and gratitude every day, it's nice to have a special holiday to help us remember.

Making His Mark Into the World, Ten Little Toes at a Time

Recently I was able to photograph my friends' newborn baby boy.  What initially started out as a maternity shoot, overnight became a newborn session instead.  It's amazing how those things work.  I will say that my experience is not with photographing babies, but I am continually intrigued by the many facets of the photography world.

IMO, babies are the most amazing creations.  They fascinate me.  Throughout the session, I wondered, what is this little guy thinking when he stretches this way or that or when he gazes into his momma's and daddy's eyes?  There are not enough words.

I enjoyed working with this family of friends and can't wait for upcoming sessions with the little guy, a bundle of cuteness.  I'm just glad he allowed me into his little world.

p.s.  Because of this session I actually thought that if I decide to pick up those crochet hooks again, I might just make my own photography props.  We shall see.  (Recognize my blanket?  It's about time it got some use.)

To cuteness,

Celebrating The Life to Come

Recently I was able to attend a baby shower for a very special one who's due to make her mark in the world later this month.  The shower was held in a quaint clubhouse behind the home of the hostess.  Let me say this, this baby shower was well planned and super fun to attend and photograph.

Delicious home-cooked food.  Unique shower favors.  Games galore.  Gifts for days.

This baby is sure to be born into a family full of love and who's waiting for her arrival.  All of her future outfits are already laid out.  :-)

Happy Shooting,
