The Better To See You

It all started after Christmas when I purchased this lamp base for 90% off.  Actually, the price was so low that the store couldn't sell it for that price, so they asked me if I minded paying a whopping 70 cents!  Um, yeah!

70 cents for the base

So, with this base on hand, this past weekend I went thrift/consignment shopping with my mom and looked for a shade for this lamp.

$5 for the shade

In the end, after 3 consecutive thrift stores, I ended up finding several lamps that I couldn't resist.  Yes, I plan to makeover the shades and bases (except for one of them), but as my mom says, "You can never have too many lamps."

 50% off.  Paid $10
I like this lamp and shade "as is".
 75% off.  Paid $3.75
This one needs a makeover, but I love the details on the base.

Feel free to share any lamp-makeover ideas.  I've seen a couple on blogs and Pinterest, but more suggestions are always welcome.

Happy Crafting,

I may be linked up to the following parties:

  1. I love the details on the last one also. So pretty. You can't beat the price that you paid for each of them though. Great finds!

  2. super great prices!! If you will use the lamps in the same room, it would be fun to coordinate them. eg. all white bases and similar/coordinating shade color. Love the colorful shade you got

  3. I found a great iron lamp at a thrift when we were in Florida. Only $5 and it had a tag that said "tested." I was so excited until I found it didn't work. Of course, they did say "tested," not "working." After $6 for a new socket, I had a working lamp. Even at $11 I thought it was a good deal. Now I see that you are a much better bargain finder!

  4. Great finds! I really like the details in the last lamp. I think some rub n buff would really enhance the designs. The colorful shade is perfect. I love it with the white base, but you could always change it depending on the colors in your room. Have fun with your projects.

  5. I love all the lamps. I cannot wait to see some before and afters.
