Beginning My Spring Garden - 2013

After participating in the April Cara Box, I had received 4 packets of seeds to plant.  Technically they should have been started then, but I was still in the process of figuring out how to accomplish the raised bed garden that I've longed for without having to use power tools...or pay someone to use power tools.  Recently, on Pinterest I discovered this thing called "cinder block gardening".  Cinder blocks!  Now that's doable.  So the desire to get my small garden started was rekindled.

Each day I've been excited to come home to start the seeds and each day we've been presented with harsh rains.  So I waited.  Even though it rained on the day I started these seeds, there was a break long enough for me to go outside and get going.  I'm crossing my fingers that this make-shift greenhouse will work for me.  Usually I start off with plants, but this year I'm trying seeds for some produce.

Now I just need to start prepping the cinder block garden so that when these babies or any future plants I purchase are ready, I can have a new home for them.  #excited
To gardening,

I may be linked up to the following parties:

  1. I've made up my mind that I will add two more boxes to the garden. The cinder blocks will be perfect!

  2. Libby,

    Good idea!
My daughter also began his garden in pots, because she lives in an apartment.
It's very exciting to see it all grow!
I want to eat this salad, ok? :-)

    Have a nice day

  3. How innovative with the cinder block!I hope you have a great luck with your garden this year!

  4. This is awesome Libby!! I will definitely remember cinder block gardening. Thanks so much for sharing this.
