Celebration of a Life

On October 3, 2012, our lives were forever changed.  For 6 long months we visited hospitals, made routine phone calls, and stayed by the side of our loved one whenever we could.  Exactly 6 months later on April 3, 2013, God saw fit to take our loved one home.

We had a beautiful home going service on Saturday, April 6 to celebrate the life of one so near and dear to our hearts.  We miss him already in knowing that we won't be able to see him again on this side of heaven, but thankful for the time we had and the knowledge that he is no longer suffering.

I love you Dad!

I may be linked up to the following parties:

  1. I am really sorry to hear this Libby.

  2. Dear, dear Libby, I am so sorry for you and your family. x Hydi

  3. I always thought you resembled your dad. It's going to be hard but he is always in your hearts and I am here for anything you need.

  4. What a beautiful post Libby. How blessed you are to have had him for a Daddy. I can see where you get that wonderful smile from. He will forever be in your hearts and watching over you always until you are by his side again.

    Hugs dear friend. :)

  5. Oh, Libby, I am so sorry. I love the picture of your father in the blue shirt and straw hat. He had such a kind face. Thinking of you at this time and always.

  6. Libby,

    My friend, I'm sorry.
I have no words that can console his person.
But I can say that his father was in a good place. He was a good father, I know.
    Beatiful post.

  7. I'm sorry, dear friend. Your father looked such a distinguished man (he has such a warm smile!); I can feel the depth of your love in this beautiful post *hugs*

  10. I'm so sorry for your loss :( Sounds like he was an amazing blessing in your life and I'm sure he definitely passed on that spirit to his daughter...x

  11. It really was a beautiful service, and I don't think a single person could walk out of it without being confident of the impact he had on lives for good. (And please pass on to Stacia that the programs were perfect.)

You are a blessed woman, and I'm praying for you often.

  12. Libby, I am so very sorry for your loss. Celebrating his life is a most appropriate way to keep your perspective; his soul can rest now :) My prayers are with you + your family.

  13. Oh Libby, so sad. Wish there were words that could help, but I know there aren't any. May your memories keep him with you always.

    Big hugs.

  14. Libby - this post and tribute shows the spirit of your dad - while I know this is a difficult time, there's hope and peace here, and I know he's in a much better place now. My prayers are still with you and your family.

  15. Libby,

I'm so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you and your family.

  16. Oh my sweet Libby, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad! I, too, have been off the computer for a while since the passing of my grandmother so I am sorry I did not see this sooner. Please know I am and will be praying for you, dear friend. May God's loving arms wrap around you and give you precious comfort.

    Love and hugs to you,

  17. Oh Libby, you have been so patient and enduring. It was such a heart wrenching thing to see you go through this. I know you handled it with grace while you shared it with all of us. You will definitely see him again, my friend. I'm sure he is bragging on you right now to The Lord. He's always going to be your daddy and always going to be in your corner. You have my prayers.
