Celebration of a Life

On October 3, 2012, our lives were forever changed.  For 6 long months we visited hospitals, made routine phone calls, and stayed by the side of our loved one whenever we could.  Exactly 6 months later on April 3, 2013, God saw fit to take our loved one home.

We had a beautiful home going service on Saturday, April 6 to celebrate the life of one so near and dear to our hearts.  We miss him already in knowing that we won't be able to see him again on this side of heaven, but thankful for the time we had and the knowledge that he is no longer suffering.

I love you Dad!

  5. Oh, Libby, I am so sorry. I love the picture of your father in the blue shirt and straw hat. He had such a kind face. Thinking of you at this time and always.

  6. Libby,

    My friend, I'm sorry.
I have no words that can console his person.
But I can say that his father was in a good place. He was a good father, I know.
    Beatiful post.

  11. It really was a beautiful service, and I don't think a single person could walk out of it without being confident of the impact he had on lives for good. (And please pass on to Stacia that the programs were perfect.)

You are a blessed woman, and I'm praying for you often.

  14. Libby - this post and tribute shows the spirit of your dad - while I know this is a difficult time, there's hope and peace here, and I know he's in a much better place now. My prayers are still with you and your family.

  16. Oh my sweet Libby, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad! I, too, have been off the computer for a while since the passing of my grandmother so I am sorry I did not see this sooner. Please know I am and will be praying for you, dear friend. May God's loving arms wrap around you and give you precious comfort.

    Love and hugs to you,
    Stephanie

  17. Oh Libby, you have been so patient and enduring. It was such a heart wrenching thing to see you go through this. I know you handled it with grace while you shared it with all of us. You will definitely see him again, my friend. I'm sure he is bragging on you right now to The Lord. He's always going to be your daddy and always going to be in your corner. You have my prayers.
