Life As I Know It - Weekly Update #25

Wow. October seemed like the longest month ever!  And yet, in a sense, it flew right by.  Hello, November.  Off and on during the month of October I was battling with my sinuses.  Nothing out of the ordinary for me.  I would do my little tricks and then I'd be fine for a week or so.  But this week, something came out of nowhere and got me.  I tried to be tough, but alas I went to the doctor yesterday.  He actually thought I had the flu, but thankfully I just have weird symptoms like that.  It's probably a combination of things - the stressful October, the changes back and forth with the weather, the weird pollen count earlier, and being exhausted even when I didn't think I was.  Plus all these other sick people around.  Your body does tell the story.  So, I've got my meds and the doctors orders to rest, which I will do and have been.  Also, my mom took the leftover rotisserie chicken from Sunday and made a soup yesterday.  I love it when she does stuff like that.  So resourceful.

While waiting in the doctor's office, I worked a little on this knitted scarf.  Love the color, but definitely not feeling the scarf right now.  The yarns and hooks will whisper to you and tell you when it's time to call it quits and do a different project or no project at all.  Also while waiting in the office, the doctor had a stack of daily Christian devotionals (Our Daily Bread) so I found the one for today and read it.

If you recall, I mentioned making some monkey baby hats recently.  While at the hospital visiting my dad one day, a nurse saw the brown monkey hat I was working on and ordered one for her soon-to-be-born niece, in pink and white.  I'd love to see the little one wearing this hat, but I'll be satisfied just thinking of how cute she'll look.

Special prayers sent out to all those still suffering from the effects of Hurricane Sandy.

To all my blog friends, thank you for your patience and understanding.  When I'm back and at it, I will be stopping by your blogs.  I miss reading and commenting.  :-)
