I've been commissioned to help make two babies (and their parents) super happy in the way of gift baskets. My job wasn't to fill the baskets, but to decorate the baskets for the grandmother-to-be to fill. And that's what I did.
I was given two baskets, of different types of wood. Then I purchased white spray paint with a primer that was specifically for wood. Having that primer is really essential because some paints will flake off if no primer is used as a base. Ask me how I know. :-)
A nice pretty day, cans of spray paint, and a few hours later, the baskets were done. My biggest nemesis was the wind!
After the paint had cured and I'd finally figured out what I'd do, I decided to hot glue some ribbon trim around the basket. It's a simple and easy solution, but sometimes that's all you need. (The ribbon colors match the blankets I made for them.) All the goodies inside will add any extra pizzazz.

And voila! My work here is done.
