C25K - Week 6, Day 3

I woke up this morning with this scripture on my Daily Bible app:

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (II Tim. 4:7)

Clearly Apostle Paul wasn't talking about a literal race, and clearly I'm no where near being a Paul (I mean he reached the third heaven!), but even so I thought it was quite interesting.  And it made me want to get up and complete my race for today - Week 6, Day 3.  25 minutes of jogging!

If you read yesterday's post, you know I didn't complete my workout.  But after a hot shower, rubbing my left leg down with Dr. Fred Summit's Arthritis & Sport Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol w/Epson Salt, elevating my leg on some pillows, and getting a good night's sleep, I was ready to go this morning.

I decided to do more pre-workout stretches.  I followed the ones here.  I also ate a piece of toast with peanut butter drizzled with a little honey.  That was so much better than that black bean burrito on yesterday.  I mean that burrito was amazing, but not race food.

So to make a long story short, I completed my workout for today.  A lot later in the morning than I would want, but I had to get my rest.  I was so excited to run an even pace the entire time and thereby being able to find my breathing rhythm.  Everything felt in sync today.  And my distance was 2.42 miles!

By the time I reached the gazebo at the end of the workout, I was able to do my post-workout stretches inside the shade of the gazebo before walking back to my car.  Then I headed to the grocery store to get a few items to make a soup today.  (I'm making Sopa de Fideos, and yes, I'll post a recipe for that.)  While in the store I met a lady who was also exercising this morning.  We were both like, "Hey, I just saw you!"

Let's see how this tastes...

Oh and BTW, my jogging hair style is lasting so far.  I've had this in since Tuesday and haven't done anything but tied it with a scarf at night and spritzed with a DIY water moisturizing spray in the mornings. I will take it down today, freshen up the parts and twist it back up for another week before wash day.  And I still look presentable.  :-)

  1. I am glad your leg is ok Libby! One of my girlfriends runs races so I know how tough it can be for the leg muscles. Your hair still looks great!
