C25K - Week 5, Day 3

20 minutes straight. Can you believe it? Yes, today's workout included me running for 20 minutes without stopping.  And I did it!

In the first 5 minutes, I was thinking 20 minutes of this is going to be a challenge.  But after my body got adjusted to jogging and I got my focus straight, it really wasn't bad.  It helped to see the running man who passed and waved almost each time.  He was such a steady runner.  Although I'm no where in his league, it was nice to push to make sure that when we passed again, I would be further than the last time.  Yeah, he was actually running and I was jogging.  Let me also clarify by saying, we were going in opposite directions on the trail.

So anyways, I'm one workout past halfway and although I still haven't gotten to a full 2 miles...yet, I'm encouraged to know that there is still time to reach that goal.  My longest distance is 1.98 miles to-date.  I'll definitely let you know when I make it.  And today, I went ahead and sent in my registration to the Women's Only 5K on October 6.  No turning back now.  :-)

Week 5, Day 3
p.s.  It's official.  I can wash my hair now.  So glad!  I think my twists were starting to turn to dreadlocs.
Have a Great Weekend,

I may be linked up to the following parties:

  1. That's awesome Libby! Being registered for the 5K will definately help you reach that goal quicker! Yay for washing the hair! Have a great weekend.

  2. Great job! You will get there. Keep up the good work. Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving me a sweet comment today. I love that verse too. Makes me take a step back from whatever I'm doing and focus on Him. Have a blessed week, Libby!

  3. Yay for you! Signing up for the 5K is a huge step. Good luck!

  4. Wow - 1.98 - you're so close. The more you run, I think you'll find that there's this difficult block in the first leg, but once you get past it - the last part of the run is easier than the first! At least that's true for me...You're doing great!

  5. Hi! I just found your blog today, looking for Week5 "survivors" as I am just about to enter my week 5 of the c25k program :) Just wanted to say that your posts are really inspiring to me! Hope your 5K race went great :D I also registered for my first 5K in December! Keep up the great work!!
