Meet Ayana R.

AE:  Who are you?
AR:  My name is Ayana, but I go by AyanaRED.
AE:  What is it that you do/make?
AR:   I make a LOT of stuff.  I don't think there is a craft that I won't try!  I have done everything from sewing, to crocheting, to painting on canvas, to painting furniture to hand carving stamps...  I could go on.  And while I do all of that stuff, my calling is encouraging other people to do it.  I think that everyone is creative - and should express themselves in the medium they choose. It is so liberating - (not to mention therapeutic!) to create something with your hands.  Everyone should experience it.
AE:  How did you get started/What is the motivation behind your work?
AR:  Unlike most crafters I know, I got a late start.  I grew up where space was limited and so was money.  So it didn't really make sense for my mom to spend money on craft supplies when we needed groceries and new shoes.  Ya know?

But in college, I met an AMAZING woman - Ms. Whitfield who showed me so much about crafting and other things.  She taught me the basics of crafting like how to use my sewing machine, how to crochet - and even housewife-ry skills like how to make soup and muffins and how to can jam.  I still call her sometimes.  For example last night, I wanted to make a lemon cake but I couldn't find a recipe for a SUPER simple one - with ingredients I already had in my cupboards.  I call her up and she just rattles one off the top of her head - and it tastes DELICIOUS!  She is a crafty genius, I tell you.
AE:  Where can we find your work?
AR:  In various homes throughout the U.S.  ;).  I don't sell my work. Here is why. I give most of it away as gifts and keep whatever is left. lol.
AE:  What is your website/contact information?
AR:  My blog is: www.sensitivesnapdragon.blogspot.com - In it you will find tutorials and patterns for how to do almost all of the things I make.  If you see something on there that you want to make but need more details, please don't hesitate to ask me.  It's what I am here for!  You can leave a comment on the post itself asking the question - or you can send me an email - ayanared [at] gmail [dot] com.  I look forward to hearing from you!

Please give Ayana your support by visiting her blog!  You won't be disappointed.  :-)

Peace & Love,

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Bloggy comments make me smile and responding via email makes me smile even more. Due to spam concerns, posting anonymously has been removed as an option.

If you would like for me to respond to your comment(s), you must not have a no-reply blogger status. To fix that, simply add an email address in your profile and voila, I'll be able to write you back. :-)
