Visions of Autumn

It's no secret that Autumn is my favorite season of the year.  First of all, nature's color palette is simply outstanding!  I love the crispness of the air.  I enjoy the butternut squash soups, the chowders, and other comfort foods typically served this time of year.  If I had somewhere to go, this would be the perfect vacation time for me.

In my home I try to reflect the current season with a few simple decorations.  First, I start with the wreath on my door and then I venture to the dining room table.  This year, the dining room table reflects a few rounds of clearance shopping between that that my mom did and what I could find in my spare time.  The linen table napkins were less than $1 and the largest item - the green table cloth was less than $10.  The smaller flower pots were around 25 cents.

I decided to move my end chairs to the side since I only had 4 plates, instead of 6.  (The plates were on clearance too.)  I'll be looking for some nice linens or chair cushions to put in those chairs to add color in the corners of the room, and some inexpensive napkin rings, if I don't end up making some.  In the meantime, I'll just enjoy this little space.

Happy Saturday,
