Heading Back Home...

The final trip post!!!!

After the hospital episode, we finally headed back home Sunday afternoon.  We drove back a different way because we didn't have to take my aunt home.  She rode back with other family from Virginia that came to the wedding.  This different route made us spend a lot of time in the mountains of West Virginia.  I drove the first 6 hours then passed the wheel to the next person.  We switched at one of the scenic overlooks in West Virginia.  It was so beautiful up there and the air was so crisp!

After stopping for dinner, I began the tedius process of taking out these twists that have been in my head for 3 months.  Yes, I was cutting in the dark.  By the time I could look at what I'd done at the Virigina Welcome Center, I liked the cut look too!  Imagine that.  There is still a lot of work involved in getting the remaining twists out but I'm looking forward to playing around with my own hair too.
We made it safely home at 3 a.m. on Monday and I slept half the day.  I missed you all and I look forward to catching up on your blogs.

Oh, but look what was waiting for me when I arrived home.  :-D

ETA:
The twists are all out now.  My hair grew more during this 3-month stint of twists, but then I trimmed the ends.  Can't have raggedy ends.  Yuck!  I plan to retwist it using only my real hair for a while and see what happens!
