Day of Firsts

First of All,

Happy 1st Day of July!!!!  Happy Canada Day!!!!

On today, I also had a first.  I made my first whipped shea butter.  Woot!  Woot!  I've been wanting to try it for quite some time, had the basic ingredients, but never gave it a shot.  No, I'm not trying to delve into yet another art form, but self-sufficiency has its perks.  I got the basic recipe from here.  I only used raw unrefined shea butter, organic virgin coconut oil, cornstarch, and a sample vial of Caribbean Coconut Oil I had on hand.  I figured it couldn't hurt.  The next time I may cut back on some of the coconut oil.  Well, here's to new things.  I can't wait to try it in my hair (which I'm getting ready to trim, BTW)!!!

* I will return to my regularly scheduled posts on the Ohio trip, but I couldn't let this day escape.
** Does it make me a dork if I sing the Canadian National Anthem in the house, like rather frequently?  I even have the sheet music.  It's such a cool anthem and yet I never have a real reason to sing it...being American and all.

  1. You crack me up Libby! So funny!

How short are you trimming your hair this time? I do love your braids/twists.

  2. Funny! Go ahead and sing all you want lol. Nice looking butter. Coconut oil is my favorite, but I tend to have dry skin.

  3. I bet the coconut oil smells great in there, como mi islita querida.
