Pasta Fagioli Soup - The Remix

Tonight, I felt like soup. Nothing spicy, but something flavorful. So I searched and found a Pasta Fagioli Soup recipe. And before you ask, no, I did not follow the recipe as outlined. However, I would love to try the recipe as directed at another time. I'll definitely bookmark it.

My style of cooking is this: use whatever you can that you already have so that you don't keep traveling to the grocery store. In other words, improvise. So, here is my improvisation:

Pasta Fagioli Soup - The Remix

(I'm also not really including measurements because I added more from time to time.)
tomato soup
black beans
chopped spinach
chicken broth
shredded chicken (this was leftover from that sauteed chicken recipe and I didn't want to waste)
minced garlic
dried parsley
garlic powder
black pepper
seashell pasta


In a saucepot or stockpot (if you're making a large amount), add all of the ingredients except the pasta. Bring to a boil; cover, and simmer for about 30 minutes. Add pasta and cook until pasta is tender.
