It's Contagious!

The most amazing thing happened today at recess. Yes, we went out there in that sweltering heat to double dutch. The kids went first. When I got outside, I noticed two of my girls sitting in the shade at the picnic tables. I went over to check on them, and lo and behold, they were practicing crocheting!!!!! It really did make my day. One girl (the one who made the purse in the previous post) had badgered her grandma about it and finally ended up creating a pocketbook of her own. The other girl, a lefty, pestered her mom yesterday and learned one stitch. She had her yarn wrapped around a paper towel holder. How genius! Maybe after the end of grade tests we can have a few moments to do some things like that. I would so love to show them a little more before they leave me to go to middle school.
