Working While Waiting

Today I had a doctor's appointment so I decided to bring my craft bag with me. I'm so glad I did because the doctor was way off schedule. She was in surgery that morning and was also on emergency call, so of course she kept getting called. My appointment was for 10:45, but I didn't get called back until probably around 1:00. So, I spent my time crafting.

While waiting, I made a little beanie hat. I think I'll really like this pattern. Thanks croshay! I also finished up one flap of the pink poncho and started on the other side.

Alessandra, my doctor really likes your hat. "It is too cute!"

Yep, I've got to get that Styrofoam head to better display these hats. I can see myself making a lot more of these!

  1. You spend well your time when you go to the doctor. I'll take note of that. Better than that foam head, why don't you pose with your hats? ;-)

  2. :-) You know, I've only made two hats for myself. I don't try them on because if I decide to sell any, I want to be able to say that they haven't been worn. :-)

That beanie pattern is great! It requires changing colors, but I just kept one color. I think this one is for a little kid's head. I'll definitely make one for myself (a little bigger) in something more springy, and I will wear it for all to see! :-)

  3. I feel like I am a big complainer... remember I had a blog post just complaining about waiting at the doctor's office for 1 hour? LOL

Anyhow, I also went to the doctor today, and had my crochet with me too!!!

I'm working on some hats for a custom order, my customer wants a newsboy hat for kids age 4 and 7. I have looked for pattern online, but didn't find anything for that size or anything that I really liked, so I am creating my own pattern. The only problem is that I don't have a kid that age to guide me...

Anyhow, I decided to call my husband's cousin's wife, she is going to meet me at Starbucks today with her boy, for me to try the hats on him and see if I am too far off or if the hats I made are the right size - cross your fingers for me!

I also wanted to tell you that I just didn't take a picture of the tilapia dinner because we were so hungry and couldn't wait to eat. LOL

Hope you are having a great day!
P.S: I am glad the hat was a success! :o) It makes me happy.

  4. I'll post this comment in my blog and yours too, but I have an Ikeep bookmarks account. It's a free account where you can upload your bookmarks so that you can access them from any computer. I am in the process of transferring my pattern links there so that I can clean up and organize my bookmark menu. When I finish I'll send you the link so that you can use whatever you find in there.

  5. I just have a very simple Singer sewing machine, very, very basic.

I used the surger from my mother-in-law's costume shop to finish off the tissue holders though, just in case you were wondering... but I don't even know how to thread it... lol
