A Time for Firsts...

Today I made my first dish cloth in cotton. I've never used cotton yarn before. I think I'll like it, but it feels different across my crochet hook - less giving. Anyways, I just needed a small project to unwind from today and when I went to the store they didn't have any creme colored yarn in a baby yarn or even in a soft texture so I couldn't start on that other baby poncho. I purchased a pale pink color and couldn't resist buying one little 2 oz. skein of the cotton yarn I've heard so much about lately.

Well, here's my project, using the "Peaches & Creme" yarn in the strawberry creme color.

It amazes me all the things that can be made by hand!

  1. Isn't it great?
That is why I love crocheting, because I can transform yarn in something else.
I have been using Lion Brand Cotton ease, for the shrugs, it's a blend of cotton and acrylic, so it gives a little more than 100% cotton and it's also very soft.
    :o)

  2. I love crocheting with cotton. Until I found crochet patterns and groups in the net I never thought of using wool or even making blankets, just doilies with white cotton yarn. By the way, I also have a pink&white skein like yours, isn't it pretty?
