I don't have much time for blogging tonight, but I just wanted to share my dinner for this evening - gumbo. Never made it before, but I wanted one of those all-in-one meals. So here it is.
Basically this is what I did:
I browned some Italian Hot Sausage, then sauteed onions, bell peppers, and celery in the drippings. I added some oregano, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and ground thyme. Then I added the sausage back in the pot with some canned whole tomatoes and some basmati rice. I let it cook a little then added some sliced okra and shrimp. (I'm still using that blasted non-deveined shrimp I put in the freezer earlier. I'll be glad when those bags are used up. Deveining is such a chore!)
