Not Today

Ok, so I tried to go do a morning jog. Really, I did. But it was just too cold and windy. Obviously I'm either going to have to modify my attire OR choose a different time in the day. I like the crisp, morning air because it's easier to breathe in and it always wakes me out of my "I'm not a morning person" mood. Even with a jacket on, I could feel the cold air whipping against me. We did one lap and ran back to the car to get back in the heat! Oh well, maybe later.

    Now you have to invest in apparel if you plan to run in the morning from what it looks like. There are two ways you can go about this. You could purchase some leggings or a wind suit. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. If you purchase the leggings, you will be comfortable but you might feel awkward. But here is the plus side, the leggings will actually keep you warm and dry in comparison to a wind suit. The other thing to consider would be your top. Micro fleece is not a bad idea-- the key is layering. Again, the objective is to keep the heat in and moisture out. Something like a heatgear (underarmor) top followed by the micro fleece top should do the trick. Lastly-- invest if you have not already a cap or a tobagan for you head. The reason is obvious and not so obvious. In one regard, you keep you head warm. But the ultimate reason is that heat escapes from the top of your head. Again, for me, when it gets too cold, I train on the inside. Hope this helps good luck.
